16 Days of Action to Eliminate Violence against Women
Date: 24 November – 3 December 2006
Space: Gallery 3
An exhibition of artwork by members of community groups highlighting the 16 Days of Action for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Running from 25 November to 10 December every year, 16 Days of Action is an International campaign which highlights the male violence against women as a human right issue. Following the Rule of Thumb progamme in 2005, GoMA was a member of the Glasgow group, organising an arts-based competition for community groups and schools in Glasgow. Groups produced visual artworks on the topic ‘violence against women’ which were displayed and selected by a jury. The winners were awarded at the opening on November 23rd.
