I-Sight

I-Sight
Date: 12 February – 26 March 1999
Space: Ellipse (Balcony 1 & 2)

Exhibition of photographic work created during 2 weeks of workshops at Streetlevel photoworks (November 1998).

The dynamic results on display range from Salt Prints (one of the earliest photography processes), digitally manipulated collages, photogrammes (a non-negative contact process) and portraits made using large format cameras. The theme of the workshops was based around portraiture – how you see others and how others see you. The participants experimented with a range of traditional and contemporary photography techniques, considering how to portray something of each other’s personalities in a realistic and fantastic way.

Artists: Photography workshops at Streetlevel Photoworks, Kenny Bean‘s Discovery Photography tent at Strathclyde Arts Centre, and GoMA
