Everyone is living longer – including artists. With the cut off for Turner nomination eligibility being 50, what does that represent for professional practice beyond that age in Scotland? Is it different within different art forms? Can the cultural infrastructure support an emergent young artist population alongside opportunities for older artists?

A panel of creative professionals, Sam Ainsley, ex head of the influential MFA department at The Glasgow School of Art; previous Turner nominee Christine Borland; dance practioner and choreographer Janice Parker; and Neil Murray, Executive Producer, National Theatre of Scotland, discuss with Chair, Steve Slater, live art programmer at Tramway for 15 years, now freelance producer/ performance artist.
