1st Day of my Changing Life: Our Vision of Tomorrow

1st Day of my Changing Life: Our Vision of Tomorrow
Date: 3 September 2010 – 16 January 2011
Space: Gallery 3
A GoMA and Glasgow Libraries project that developed in association with the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art 2010.
In April 2010, ‘taster sessions’ took place in libraries across Glasgow which encouraged young people to develop haiku poetry and looped sound recordings as responses to artists’ films. The storyteller Hannah Van Hove and composer Michael John McCarthy then developed workshops for young people engaged in the project. The workshops were held at the Pollokshields Youth Group, GoMA and Kelvingrove. In these workshops the young people explored written and sound responses to the Tomorrow (2005) film by Fiona Tan. The works (films and illustrated written works) created by young people were shown alongside Tomorrow.
Artists: Young people from Pollokshields worked with storyteller Hannah Van Hove and musician and composer Michael John McCarthy.
