Country Grammar

Country Grammar
Date: 16 September – 14 November 2004
Space: Gallery 3
An exhibition of work examining recent approaches to drawing by a group of Glasgow-based artists for whom drawing is a significant part of their practice.
Country Grammar explores the artistic practices considered to fall within the scope of drawing today. The artists whose work is on show work in a range of media using collage, installation, painting, performance and sculpture. Each artist uses drawing differently within their work. This exhibition examines the two- and three-dimensional forms that drawing can take, and reveals similarities with traditional drawing methods such as the dominant use of paper, pen, pencil and paint.
