British Art Show 7: In the Days of the Comet

British Art Show 7: In the Days of the Comet
Date: 27 May – 14 August 2011
Space: Gallery 1 & 2

Taking place simultaneously across three of Glasgow’s key contemporary arts venues – Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA), Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) and Tramway – British Art Show 7 featured works by 39 of the most exciting artists and artists’ groups working in the UK today.

Curated by Lisa Le Feuvre and Tom Morton, British Art Show 7 takes as its motif the idea of the comet as a harbinger of change, a measure of time and marker of historical recurrence. It proposes alternative ways of thinking about the ‘here and now’ and suggests pathways into different worlds. Each venue features art in a range of media from sculpture to photography, painting to performance, drawing to film and video.

Artists: Charles Avery, Juliette Blighman, Steven Claydon, Milena Dragicevic, Michael Fullerton, Alastair Gray, Brian Griffiths, Haroon Mirza, Mick Peter, Olivia Plender, Elizabeth Price, Karin Ruggaber, Edgar Schmitz, George Shaw and Sue Tompkins.
