Exhibition of a wide range of abstract artworks, some of which reflected the visible world, and others which went beyond the material representation of real life. It explored the two concepts with examples drawn from Glasgow’s own collections, supplemented with a few important loans. The title, Echo and Transcend, is intended to locate abstraction in relation to “reality”.
