Entwined: Contemporary Miniatures

Entwined: Contemporary Miniatures
Date: 12 November 1999 – 24 April 2000
Space: Temporary exhibition

This exhibition of contemporary miniature paintings originated in Birmingham earlier this year and represents a decade of work by twin sisters Amrit and Rabindra Kaur Singh. It reveals life in Britain through an Asian lens, a story of humour and colour told in fine detail.

This specially commissioned work depicts the artists’ personal interpretation of Scottish Asian life. In a marriage of reality and symbolism the artists explore the interconnections of communities in Glasgow past and present. The new work is a welcome addition to the city’s permanent collections.
