Glasgow Museums’ Intercultural Youth Group

The Intercultural Youth Group (ICY) is a creative community space for young people (aged 18-26) from minority ethnic groups in Glasgow.

It is a new group, formed in response to the long existing feelings of unbelonging that many experience when visiting museum and gallery spaces, especially for those from ethnic minority groups.

By engaging with Glasgow Museums’ spaces and collection, the ICY group aims to support young people in working to change and challenge these feelings, to re-claim these spaces. We will achieve this by creating opportunities for you to connect, learn and collaborate.

This can involve helping you plan events,  host workshops or exhibitions, provide learning opportunities from art and museum professionals, visits to Glasgow Life venues across the city and resources for research and learning. Or you can join to meet others, connect and be creative.
