Artist Talk: Hal Fischer in conversation with Dr Glyn Davis

While we are closed enjoy this conversation with Dr Glyn Davis, University of Edinburgh, and artist Hal Fischer in the Studio at GoMA, Glasgow, about his work which includes the seminal work Gay Semiotics.
Hal Fischer is an American artist who produced his most significant work in San Francisco in the late 1970s. He was one of the first artists to apply a conceptual approach to gay-themed photographs and GoMA is the first UK institution to acquire the iconic works Gay Semiotics alongside tow other series – 18th near Castro St x 24 and Boy-Friends. Read more about the exhibition at GoMA here.
Art Fund supported this talk through their Art Talks programme and also supported Glasgow Museums with a grant to acquire Fischer’s key work from the 19070’s Gay Semiotics along with other series Boy-Friends and 18th Near Castro St.
