How Great Thou Arts

How Great Thou Arts
Date: 25 October 2006 – 14 January 2007
Space: Balcony 1
An exhibition of work that portrays musician Elvis Presley in over 70 portraits by people aged from 4 to 84, all from community groups in the west of Glasgow, including Yorker, Knightswood, Scotstoun and Maryhill.
Designed to inform and to provide a platform for participants to show their work, a series of art classes and an open day workshop encouraged artistic expression and education in community groups within the West area of Glasgow. The works are shown as a group piece thus there is only a main label to explain the project and information leaflets to take away.
How Great Thou Arts was selected from submissions to the Community Exhibition Space open call 2006.
