Drawing is often considered as simply putting pencil to paper, and recording from observation. Mark-marking: Perspectives on Drawing presents work by 6 contemporary artists who place drawing as central to their practice and challenge this assumption.

Although Erica Eyres, France-Lise McGurn, Gregor Wright, Jonathan Owen, Lois Green and Ross Hamilton Frew come to drawing from very different perspectives, similar themes and processes – such as found images, manipulation of material, and transformation – thread through their practices. They also share a love of drawing and the ability to create a striking image.
