Saturday Art Club – Black Lives Matter

To celebrate Black History Month, in this Saturday Art Club we’re making BLM (Black Lives Matter) posters that show our support in ending racism and spark hope towards a more inclusive, equal and progressive society.
#BlackLivesMatter, founded in 2013, is a global political and social movement that aims to bring justice, healing and power to Black people across the world. This year, the movement gained international attention from the murder of George Floyd due to police brutality, triggering worldwide protests. The commitment to eradicating racism continues everyday; to find out more, visit: https://blacklivesmatter.com/
Although we still have a long way to go, at GoMA we have various efforts to represent Black History through our programming and staff training, which you can read all about here: https://galleryofmodernart.blog/2020/07/02/a-response-to-black-lives-matter-and-structural-racism/
