SELF IMAGE

SELF IMAGE
Date: 1 May – 15 June 1997
Space: Temporary Exhibition (now Gallery 3)
Exhibition of works by members of the Project Ability – an organisation working to promote equal access to the arts for people with disabilities – and realised in collaboration with Tony Cooper during his residency in 1996.
SELF IMAGE explored artists’ awareness of links between themselves, their ideas and their environment through artistic expression. Work included computer generated images, painting and collage, inspired by the artists’ own image of themselves and their surroundings. With funding from the Scottish Art Council and support from artists Tony Cooper and Heather Lynch, local artists from Project Ability created the SELF IMAGE exhibition and a series of public art works.
Artists: Tony Cooper with members of Project Ability: Tommy Mason, Cameron Morgan, John Cocozza, Steven Reilly, Robert Melville, Ellen Brown, Duncan Gray
