As part of GoMA’s work within Glasgow Museums we are involved in conversations and discussions with other peers across the wider museums sector. Last year Victoria Hollows, Contemporary Arts and Museum Manager at GoMA, was asked by Bernadette Lynch to submit a paper to a publication she was guest editing. Objective is a city wide conversation on sculpture. 16 venues with a brand new space opening up for the duration of the project (Tender Bar) and multiple events and performances. Illuminated Letters is a partnership project between Gallery of Modern Art Glasgow and Glasgow Women’s Library inspired by GoMA’s exhibition of the works of Niki de Saint Phalle. This project takes as its starting point the recently donated ‘illuminated letters’ of Niki de Saint Phalle in the collection of GoMA. We invited GWL to build a learning programme, with staff at GoMA, linked to the exhibition and the letters in particular and Illuminated Letters grew out of those conversations.
