Ellie Harrison: Early Warning Signs

The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) hosted Early Warning Signs by Ellie Harrison during 2014 and 2015. Early Warning Signs is a lifelong project for the artist and the two works on display at GoMA in 2014 & 2015 were one of four signs currently shown across the UK with a mission ‘promote’ climate change (they try hard to grab the attention of passers-by).
GoMA applied to adopt a sign for 2014 to begin conversations with our staff and visitors to think about climate change . As part of this work we wanted to think about what we as a gallery and a staff team can do to develop about our work for the cultural sector of Glasgow in a more sustainable way and reduce our carbon footprint. One of these conversations resulted in the Associate Artist Rachel Duckhouse during 2014 & into 2015.
We also worked with Ellie Harrison to develop Dark Days in 2015 related to climate change, environmental issues and a more sustainable city.
