The GYG presents TOGETHER – a collaborative exhibition

Title: TOGETHER
Date: 9 September – 18 October 2022
Space: COMMONSpace – Gallery 2
The GoMA Youth Group (GYG) is a collective of young people aged 16-24 who started meeting at GoMA in November 2021. GYG’S mission is to create spaces for young people in Glasgow to connect through art.
Our time together began with setting goals, meeting curators and learning about GoMA, museums and the sector. By the new year, we were ready and delivered our first events. In July 2022, we hosted the GYG Festival, a 10 day programme of events and workshops for young people in Glasgow – including rug tufting, pizza making, sign painting, a queer tour of GoMA, film screening & talks.
TOGETHER is a collection of outcomes produced collaboratively by attendees of our events and members of the GYG in response to the artworks at GoMA. This exhibition is a testament to the process being just as important as the final work.
The GoMA Youth Group presents TOGETHER is a celebration of young people in Glasgow connecting, sharing and creating together.
GoMA Youth Group members: Eden Bø Dower, Isabella Wagner, Nora Aubry, Rana Noor Mohamed, Faith Muyaba, Alyx Furniss and Euan Gallacher.
Text and Exhibition curated by Isabella Wagner and Eden Bø Dower.
The GoMA Youth Group is funded by the Scottish Government’s Youth Arts Fund through Creative Scotland with support from Youth Music Initiative and Time to Shine.
The exhibition is open during GoMA’s opening times. Admission to GoMA is free and no tickets needed!
