Ellie Harrison: The Glasgow Effect – Book Launch
Friday 1 November 6pm
Gallery 4
Tickets Free but book via eventbrite

How would your career, social life, family ties, carbon footprint and mental health be affected if you could not leave the city where you live?

Artist Ellie Harrison sparked a fast-and-furious debate about class, capitalism, art, education and much more, when news of her year-long project The Glasgow Effect went viral at the start of 2016. Now, 3 years on, Ellie’s new book The Glasgow Effect tells the inside story from the artist herself. Chaired by University of Strathclyde Research Fellow Anna McLauchlan, the event will offer the personal insight into the aims of the project, the intense fallout in the run up to and during, and the aftermath, including reflections and where we can go from here in our ecological efforts.

GoMA worked with Ellie 2014 – 2015 on Early Warning Signs and Dark Days and are delighted to be working with the artist and Luath Press LTD on this event. Admission is free and all are welcome. Guests will received a complimentary glass of wine on arrival, and books will be available to buy from the Gallery shop.
